Recertifications
RehabAlpha is still under active development. It is not yet HIPAA compliant and should only be used with dummy data.
A recertification represents a continuation of therapy services beyond the original certification period. It documents the patient’s progress, updated goals, and clinical justification for ongoing therapy. Recertifications are typically required when therapy extends past the duration of the initial Evaluation or previous certification.
Recertifications are created within a therapy case and follow an initial evaluation.
Data model
Every therapy case has one or more certifications. The first certification is designated as the evaluation while the subsequent certifications are designated as recertifications.
Each certification maps to 0 or more treatments, a therapist, and an admission.
Discussion
In RehabAlpha, a recertification is created from inside an existing therapy case with a treatment plan. The recertification collects clinical information about a patient, including
- medical and treatment diagnoses
- measures
- therapy necessity
- CPT codes
- the evaluating therapist
Futhermore, every recertification requires a start and end date that defines the window of time for which treatment will be provided.
The recertification remains editable until it receives a signature or signature request.
